Millom travelled with a bare XV to Workington on Saturday looking to build on last weekends success against Cockermouth.
The blue and whites got off to a bright start as they were able to apply early pressure which led to a series of infringements from the hosts. Hugh Sweeney missed a penalty attempt at goal but the Workington defence finally cracked as a strong run from inside centre Trevor Dixon burst through the Workington defence and finished impressively. This seemed to spark the Zebras into life as they responded by running in three unanswered tries, as Millom could not find an answer to the powerful Workington driving maul.

The half time interval came at a good time for the visitors. With a slight breeze assisting throughout the second period and the boot of Chris Park they were able to pin Workington back in their own territory. Again it was more determined running from Trevor Dixon who bustled his way over the line, between the sticks to get Millom back into the match.

Millom continued to play the game in their opponents territory but could not find a way through the resolute Workington defence. A tapped penalty along with strong running and some slick handling from the hosts resulted in a try which put the game out of sight with 5minutes remaining. The bonus point victory for the Zebras is the perfect tonic following last weekends defeat to Keswick. Meanwhile Millom will be disappointed to come away from the match without any points.
