Jack Sinclair bags three as New Earswick run riot.

By

NEAB v Stainland Stags

New Earswick were in fine form on Saturday with a host of scorers the pick of them was Second Rower Jack Sinclair scoring 3 on his 2016 debut after almost a year on the sidelines.

The going was heavy at White Rose avenue however, unusually warm for January.

It took the All Blacks just over 12mins to break the deadlock, Liam Gargan showing and going to score. Tom Holmes on target with what would turn out to be a busy day for him.

5 mins later Jack Sinclair with his first of 3, hit the gap to score on the right hand side, Tom Holmes again on target. 12-0.

It would be only 8mins later and Ollie Cook getting his first score for the All Blacks with a crash ball to go under the sticks. Tom Holmes converting 18-0 after 25 gone.

3mins later Winger Dean Smith opened his account for 2016 after great hands found him open on the left to touch down in the corner. Tom Holmes converting.

New Earswick then lost halfback Liam Gargan, with what could be a few weeks on the side line with a broken thumb.

Half Time 24-0.

New Earswick came out firing, starting how they had left the first half, 2mins in man of the match, Sean Malarkey scoring his 2nd of the season. Tom Holmes converting 30-0.

Jack Sinclair would then complete his hatrick with a 6min double. The first on 44mins the second on 50mins. Tom Holmes kicking both 42-0.

The All Blacks then had a slip of concentration and with nothing to lose Stainland chanced their arm, their winger scoring down their right hand side. Conversion missed 42-4.

Centre Pete Ritchie would finish the scoring for the All Blacks after being denied earlier diving over for his second of the season. Tom Holmes successful with the boot 48-4.

Stainland would have the last say in the game on full time, conversion missed 48-8.

Jack Stearman pleased with efforts noted “we still need to cut out the lapse in concentration that always occurs at some point in the game. Also at times we look as if we were chasing the game despite being 30 points up. Im pleased with the buy in the lads have shown in 2016 and want to carry on the same way at Batley next week.”
