YML action returns to Chevinedge on Saturday - NCL side at Kells

By Joe McCormack

Both open age teams in action

Following last week's win at home against Thornhill Trojans, coaches Darren Phillips and Gareth English take their NCL team on the long trip to Cumbria to play Kells on Saturday 2.30 pm kick off.

With Siddal out of action on 13th April, as scheduled opponents Thatto Heath play in Challenge Cup instead, the team will be looking to secure a win so that they don't slip down what is looking like a tight division, before the next game on 27th April. With the top of the table on 4 points and the bottom side on 2 points, each game is vital as sides jockey for position.

Siddal welcome back Joe Martin, who is back in the UK for the time being from travelling and he comes straight back into the side.

The team will be leaving the club at 9.00 am on Saturday morning. If there are any supporters who wish to travel on the coach, please be at the club by 8.45 am.

Saturday sees the start of the Yorkshire Men's League and coach Russ Holroyd has named a strong squad for the Premier Division clash at Chevinedge against East Hull, which kicks off at 2.30 pm. Jake Turner and Eddie Ainley, who have both been performing well when the opportunity has arisen in the NCL side, are named in a young side, which is rich with talent.

Please get down to the club on Saturday to support the team. Entry is free.
