Crostyx too strong for 2s

The 2s hosted second in the division Crostyx for the final match before the Christmas break, knowing it would be a tough game. From the start the visitors were not showing the home defence any Christmas spirit as they attacked the D. But the S&B backline of Nicola Ellis, Ella White, Charley Edwards, Claire Sutton and Michelle Arnold stood firm. However, eventually Crostyx found a way through on a rebound shot which was fired into the netting. S&B fought back, and soon after a ball from Edwards went to Charlotte Brooks, who ran it all the way up the right and crossed in where Claire King was waiting to blast it home, giving the visiting keeper no chance. The score remained 1-1 at half time.
The second half began with more attacking from Crostyx and they eventually scored again after a goal line scramble. S&B battled to the end, player of the match Nicola Ellis even making a clearance on the goal line, but the score remained 2-1.
