Six goals for sixth in a row

Scrappy game, but still a win

Tadcaster started slowly in the cold autumn afternoon air, a stark contrast to last week's warm sunny morn.
Harrogate had the upper hand to start, but failed to create any meaningful chances as Taddy built into the game. Adam and Chris were causing headaches for the Harrogate defence and it was Chris Bolt the broke the deadlock.
The goal seemed to spur Tad on and for the next twenty minutes of the game some exceptional hockey was played.
Paul Doyle got the faintest of touches on a Matt Cattle short corner shot, and soon after Doyle grabbed his second from a rebound from short corner strike; controlling and dispatching into the roof of the net on his reverse side.
Chris Bolt not to be outdone grabbed his second of the game as quick thinking from a long corner found Roy Jewitt unmarked in the D; he found Chris at the near post and with back to goal he struck past the Harrogate keeper.
Harrogate did get a small foothold in the game just before the end of a very long half by converting a short corner to take the game into halftime as 4-1.

The second half became stretched and scrappy with neither team taking the game by the scruff of the neck. Flare points from poor tackling and comments by both sides making the game stop start and difficult to umpire.
Tadcaster did score first though with Chris Bolt rounding out his hat trick before Tadcaster produced the move of the game starting at the back and moving through the team with good movement off the ball and strong passing. It found Paddy Gilbert running into the top of the D unopposed and his reverse stick shot was only partially saved by the keeper, looping up and beating the despairing last ditch effort of the defender to drop into the goal.
Harrogate did convert another short corner late on to make the final score 6-2, but Tadcaster Magnets 100% record continues with 6 from 6.

The scrappiness of the second half is reflected in the man of the match this week with it being awarded to the Tadcaster Umpire Ali McKay who maintained order as best as possible and kept the game playing.
