3rd place Redruth will be looking to maintain their 100% record for 2017 when they take on Bury St. Edmunds on Saturday. Last weekend at Barnes the Reds put in a sparkling display in front of a good contingent of Cornish supporters, including the Cadgwith singers who entertained all in the clubhouse after the match.
Bury St Edmunds who will be staying at the Penventon Park Hotel on Friday will be looking to get their season back on track after seven defeats in the last eight games which has them nervously looking over their shoulder in the league. So far the league record between the sides is, played three won three in favour of the Reds, but as we know though in this division anybody can beat anybody as the Reds almost found out two weeks ago against Exmouth. The visitors top points scorer is Scott Lyle with 138 and their top try scorer is Sam Sterling with 11.
Last season’s match is one that will live long in the memory, not because of the rugby, but because of the monsoon like conditions it was played in. It took some persuasion by both teams to get the referee to agree that rugby could be played on a pitch more suitable to water polo!
Stay on after the match and watch England defend the 6 nations on the big screen.
