Blues' first game in 2018 sees near neighbours Romford visit Parkside in this Bostik North local derby. The Boro currently prop up the table but their last four games have included a creditable away draw at Dereham Town and an away win at Cheshunt. Blues must therefore guard against any complacency and be at their best in order to build on Saturday's win at Potter Bar.
The Opposition
Like Blues, Romford are currently homeless and have been for many years since the sale of their Brooklands Stadium in the heart of Romford. Boro - despite some changes - have an illustrious history going back many years appearing at Wembley in the 1949/50 Amateur Cup final and even reaching the Quarter Finals of the FA Cup way back in 1880/81! They were for some time a semi-professional outfit playing in the Southern League.
Leading goalscorer this season is Jonathan Nzengo with 7 goals.

In The Past
There have been numerous meetings between the two teams going back many years. Fans may recall a Boxing Day clash at Rookery Hill in 2011 when Boro recorded a 2-1 win courtesy of a Man Of The Match performance from a certain Lamar Johnson - a performance which probably led to Blues eventually securing Lamar's signature!
Since 1950 there have been 20 matches - Blues winning 10, with 4 draws and 6 defeats. The last meeting was in the Isthmian League Cup 3rd round at Ship Lane in November 2013 with Blues winning 2-0 with goals from Ben Osman and Dan Fry.
