Glossop take on Prescot Cables this weekend at Surrey Street on the back of two superb performances, the game had been postponed back in December due to a frozen pitch.
The Hillmen earned a solid away point at Droylsden on Tuesday and certainly could have had all three on another day, Adam Etches scored Glossop's goal late in the second half after Glossop had spurned a number of chances throughout the game.
Even though Glossop didn't win that game, they will be looking to take the same level of performance into Saturday's game against Prescot Cables.
Our last visit to Volair Park was actually last weekend as we beat Skelmersdale United 3-0, who play their home matches at Prescot's stadium. Our last visit when playing against Prescot was way back in August as we lost 3-1.
Prescot had been on a four game unbeaten run in the League until they lost to Mossley 2-1 last time out. Although those four unbeaten games were all played at home. The scores were level until the 90th minute when Mossley's Dylan Fitzgerald scored the winner. That result means Prescot sit 8th on 47 points, four points from the play off places.
Glossop sit 23 points behind Saturday's visitors and after two strong results over the last seven days, have climbed to 17th, five points clear of Kendal Town in 19th. They have impressed away from home in recent weeks, picking up 11 points out of an available 15.
Joint managers Pete Band and Lloyd Morrison may look to stick with an unchanged team following Tuesday's draw with Droylsden although Mason Duffy will be eager for a start after going off injured against Skelmersdale, however, Adam Latham may well have earnt himself another start with his performance against Droylsden.
On Glossop's recent form ahead of Saturday, Band said: "The fans reaction on the media after Tuesday was very positive and we just need to carry that on into these two home games. We need to turn these 11 points out of 15 away from home into something positive on our own patch."
The support on Tuesday was superb so please come down to Surrey Street to help give the lads an extra boost against a very good side in Prescot. We all appreciate it.
