AFTER TWO poor performances with no goals, eight goals shipped in and no points, Brighouse Town go into their next two games with a boost in key areas.

On Saturday Town travel to ninth-placed Clitheroe (3.0) and on Monday entertain Ramsbottom United (7.45) who are just one place above them.

The Evo-Stik NPL League management worked quickly to re-arrange Town's postponed game from last Saturday owing to the frost and snow and so Vill Powell's men now have two very important games in 72 hours.

The manager is pleased to report that club skipper and solid defender Adam Field will be back from five weeks out with an ankle injury, fellow central defender Connor Griffin and left back Lewis Riley are also set to return for selection at the weekend after injury.
"This is massive boost as we have had to play with square pegs in round holes with both Iwan Heeley and Daniel Grimshaw having to fill in gaps unfamiliar to them both. This has taken it's toll and highleted the miss in key defensive positions by not having the likes of Field, Griffin and Riley has presented," explained Powell.

"The issue was compounded when we brought in centre back Oran Thompson from Huddersfield Town who looked excellent in his first 30 minutes at Atherton Collieries but unfortunately he got sent off and is now suspended for three games. With the re-arranged Ramsbottom game he will now also miss Clitheroe on Saturday, then Mossley at home on the following Saturday to complete his three. The FA disciplinary have said his sending off affects only Brighouse Town's matches and he can play for Huddersfield's U-18s or U23s in midweek if selected so that will keep him match fit.

"With the weather causing havoc up and down the country it was a welcome break as it gave us an extra few days to patch up a few of the injured and give others with knocks a rest and leaving them fresh for this busy weekend.

"The next ten games are do or die and we are going to fight and scrap for every single point to ensure we finish on a positive run. There is competition for every shirt not least the No1 spot where through his performances elsewhere George Clarke has earned his opportunity and was unfortunate to concede four in a game at Atherton where we had 10 men for 60 minutes.

"Chandler Hallwood is still recovering from his lack of games and training due to his injury and I feel he may have come back a little early at Colwyn Bay so it's something we will asses during the week and look at at the weekend ."

There was a complete white out in the league last Saturday but it returned to action on Tuesday with results going Town's way as they bid to try and say farewell to their basement battle. Prescot Cables beat bottom club Goole 2-1, Radcliffe Borough lost 4-3 at home to Colne and Tadcaster Albion beat Colwyn Bay 2-1.

Town's only re-arranged fixture is the Ramsbottom game on Monday while many other clubs on the Tuesday begin a very busy catch up period through the rest of March.
There is a coach heading for Clitheroe on Saturday leaving the Yorkshire Payments Stadium at 12 noon and supporters wanting to travel should contact Ellis Aked on 07816435514 and the cost is £10.00.

Halifax Steam Brewery and their superb pub alongside the Cock Of The North at Hipperholme will be sponsoring Monday night's game.
