Next up - AFC Sudbury away on Saturday, 14th April at Kings Marsh Stadium, Brundon Ln, Sudbury CO10 7HN; Bostik Isthmian League Division One (North), kick off 3pm.

This will be the first of two matches between these clubs this weekend with Ware first team now looking a little anxiously over their shoulders at the relegation battle below them. In those circumstances they won't want to be told that they travel to a ground where they and their predecessors have lost on eight of nine visits.

Sudbury have been bumped up the table after two wins on the trot, both against fellow Hertfordshire sides with Hertford going down 1-0 at home last Saturday and Cheshunt copping a 3-0 beating in Suffolk the week before. Those were Sudbury's first wins since February's 1-0 success over league leaders AFC Honrnchurch.

After four games in eight days culminating in last Saturdays lacklustre performance against Romford Ware will have had a week off to recover their strength. They will also have Louis Bowen available to return to central defence. Louis was hoping to get a run out with the under-23s in midweek but yet again the rain prevented that match from going ahead.

If Louis should play on Saturday it will allow Gareth Madden to be returned to midfield. It will be a tough fixture but Ware seem able to field something like the side which had such a good run recently before injuries intervened.

Did I say there are two matches against AFC Sudbury this weekend? Yes, our Under-14s face them in their Eastern Junior Alliance U14 League Cup final. The match kicks off at 11am at Woodbridge Town FC, Notcutts Park, Fynn Rd, Martlesham, Woodbridge, Suffolk IP12 4DA.

AFC Sudbury under-14s have stormed through their campaign this season and have lost only one match so far. That defeat however was last Sunday, the day our Under-14s were winning 4-1 at Stotfold, the same score by which Sudbury won at Stotfold in the semi-final so perhaps the two sides will be evenly matched.
