The away game had an exciting finish, with Sandal snatching the lead in injury time, only for us to comeback, turn down the opportunity of a penalty to draw the game, then win with a Penalty try, awarded as a drive to the line was stopped. This hid a poor game, between two teams who had not probably not met their expectations this season scrapping at the wrong end of the table.
Sandal will start the game five point behind Kendal, with a game in hand, and a number of winnable fixtures to come in their run to the end of the season, so both teams should be keen for a win to push them towards mid-table.
The visitors have had some good results recently, with a try scoring bonus point (falling just one point short of a double bonus point) in a re-arranged game against Harrogate a fortnight ago. Before that they had a losing bonus point away at Hull, a good win against Wirral and a win at Ilkley, but prior to that had lost to Morley
TEAM : It is hard to remember the last game (three weeks ago at Mintbridge against Morley), but Chris Park replaces Nathan Woof at fullback, with Nathan starting on the bench. Dini Noyo moves to scrum half, Man of the Match versus Morley, Kris Bratton to the left wing, and there is a welcome return for Mike Fearon in the centre.
Up front Garry Holmes moves to the back row, with Matt Charters returning, in place of Chris Downham. Robbie Collinson comes in at hooker. Another welcome return is Duncan Green, who starts on the bench after his layoff due to appendicitis over Christmas
WEATHER : A Wet afternoon.
The game kicks off at 3:00 the 2:15 mentioned elsewhere on the website is the televised Ireland v Scotland game.
