What a rollercoaster year it has been for both these sides. Hungerford have had some memorable wins even if they haven’t come that frequently as many would like. Most notably staying up on the final day last season at East Thurrock. Truro came 7th last season and contested in the play offs for national league status but now find themselves at the other end of the table which includes having to play home games in Torquay. Both will be looking for a brighter second half of the season. Truro are currently outside the relegation zone and win for Hungerford could mean they also escape the bottom three if Gloucester fail to win. Neither team are far from safe meaning this game is a tense 6 pointer.

Form guide- Truro lost 4-2 to league leaders Torquay but have been on a bit of form recently which has seen them gain some breathing space above the drop. Before that they had their match against Wealdstone postponed after beating Slough Town away 2-1. The Crusaders got a valuable point against Play-off contenders Oxford City bouncing back from a 2-1 loss away to Dartford. That was after a home win against Chippenham.

Team news- City have added wing-back Nick Hurst to their squad and seem to have no new injury concerns following their recent Boxing day clash. Hungerford should have right back Marcus Jonson- Schuster back from an ankle injury. Rhys Kavanagh missed the Dartford game but came back on Boxing day with a late cameo appearance meaning he should be fit to start on Saturday. Romone Rose may be suspended following a 5th booking in last Saturdays match v Dartford.

Star man- Our visitors have striker Tyler Harvey in good form and looking to break a record on Saturday. He scored in the reverse fixture against the Crusaders and in Saturdays loss to Torquay. He could also become Truro’s top scorer in the national league south after moving level with Cody Cooke on 25 goals. The hosts winger Darren Foxley is starting to enjoy life at Bulpit Lane following 2 goals in 2 games at the ground. Both have provided the Crusaders with 4 valuable points.

Head to head- Hungerford beat Truro earlier on this season with a 3-2 win at Plainmoor which is still our only away victory to date. Last season Truro won both meetings. A 1-0 win at Bulpit Lane with 10 men followed up by a 2-1 home victory. In 2016/17 we lost 2-0 away before gaining revenge with a thumping 5-0 win. In 2014/15 we lost again away 2-1 before a 2-0 home win. They returned to Cornwall in April to contest the play off semi finals but lost 1-0. In 2013/14 we thrashed our visitors 6-0 at home followed up with a 2-1 away victory.
