Well the wait is over. AFC having won Ryman North last season embark on a new adventure in the Ryman Premier League for the first time.
The first fixture brings Dulwich Hamlet to The Wardale Williams Stadium for the first ever meeting between the two clubs. The historic and well supported South London side finished last season in fifth place but lost out in the promotion play-offs. They will obviously be trying hard again this season to get out of the division.
The AFC Management Team of Manager Jamie Godbold and Assistant Andy Reynolds have added to their team during the close season, with a First Team Coach in Matt Haniver, a Goalkeeping Coach in Jordan Allston, and a new Head of Recruitment and Scouting in Chris Bond all arriving and will be looking to push the club forward in 2016/17.
On the playing front, in have come goalkeeper, Callum Robinson from Colchester United, defenders Adam Tann from St Neots Town, Aaron Greene from Brentford and forwards, Sam Bantick from Concord Rangers and Rob Eagle from Lowestoft Town. Also in the squad are youngsters James Baughurst, Tyler French and Wayne Blackman.
For the opening fixture the only player likely to miss out through injury is Jack Wilkinson who is recovering from a hamstring injury picked up in pre-season. he hopes to be fix in the next seven days.
