Barrow Town welcome Shirebrook Town to Riverside Park for the opening game of the EMCL season.
After much upheaval over the summer, the Riversiders will have a completely new look for 2019/20 with a new whole new management team and playing squad now in place for the visit from the North Nottinghamshire side.
Shirebrook Town were formed in 1985 when their Sunday side decided it was time to try their hand at the more professional side of non-league football. Back then they were known as Shirebrook Colliery but, when the colliery closed in 1993, they changed their name to Shirebrook Town. Most recently they have been members of the NCEFL but were laterally transferred in to the EMCL after finishing 18th last season.
Like the Riversiders, Shirebrook have had a mixed pre season campaign with a mixture of victories and losses - most recently losing 2-1 to South Normanton Athletic, but prior to that won 5-0 away at Clay Cross Town.
BARROW TOWN - TEAM NEWS
With no Reserve Team fixture tomorrow, Kris Nurse has a squad of 34 to choose from although there could be some further late additions to the squad on Friday evening as the Riversiders look to get off to a bright start.
The squad is however likely to include some familiar names for the home supporters as Nurse has added a host of players that have played Step 4 to 6 locally in the last few seasons, as well as attracting a couple of players from further afield.
The game at Riverside Park kicks off at 3pm, with admission prices set at £5 and £3 for concessions.
