Eccleshill United is back in action this weekend, making the trip to Penistone Church in what is set to be another difficult test in the Eagles NCEL Premier Division journey against one of the league's favorites for promotion.
Sean Regan's men will need to be in top form to pick up a result against a strong side, but after an impressive performance against another strong team in Tadcaster Albion, the squad will have plenty of confidence heading into the game.
Penistone Church currently sits in second place and do have the potential to go top with a victory and other results, a situation that the Eagles will be aiming to put a stop to.
Unfortunately, Eccleshill United will be missing several key men with injuries to Jake Thomspon, Ben Grech-Brooksbank, and Ben McCready as well as the lengthy injuries still keeping Liam Hudson and Jonny Irving out of action. On top of that, this fixture will be the first of a three-match suspension to Jazz Alali, another blow to the Eagles midfield.
However, the club does have a major boost in the form of new signing, Tom Dugdale who will be aiming to make his mark and is available for his debut this weekend. The highly sought after winger has tons of experience in the NCEL and Evo-Stik and is set to play a major role this season, starting this weekend.
Sean Regan will also have a tough decision to make in regards to who starts in goal after Dom Smith made his return to the side with an impressive midweek performance, whilst Jack Bentley will also be hoping to return to the squad.
The hosts are yet to be defeated at the DSM Memorial Ground, something that will give a boost of confidence, and head into the game on the back of a four-match winning streak which has seen them show prolific form in front of goal, scoring 17 goals. The Eagles will also need to be wary of Penistone's Sam Scrivens who has had an electric start to the season, finding the back of the net 10 times already.
For Eccleshill, the club is searching for its first win in five games and a major victory against Penistone Church would certainly be the perfect way to do that on Non-League Day.
