Old Gs continue their campaign in Kent 1 on Saturday as they welcome local rivals New Ash Green to Stade de Bronte View. Always entertaining affairs, Old Gs will look to use the fixture to get back to winning ways after a bump in the road away at Gillingham last week – where if Old Gs had taken their chances the outcome may well have been different.
Whilst Old Gs will go into the fixture as favourites New Ash Green are no pushovers and like nothing more than to upset the apple cart in fixtures such as this. Old Gs will need to produce a professional top level performance to see of their local adversaries.
With a pre match lunch taking place the crowd will no doubt be sizeable, and Old Gs will look to gain the victory and put on a good performance in front of plenty of onlookers.
As seems to be customary there are changes to the Old Gs ranks, with injury and unavailability having its usual input within squad selection
Lewis Moss, Matt Johnson are in the front row where they are joined by the returning Brett Buckingham. Skipper Frazer Barnes again misses out due to injury, leaving Joe Martin to cuddle up next to stand in skipper Andy Morris in the engine room. The bash twins of Jack Nash and Sam Baker feature at 6 and 8 respectively, where they will team up with Andrew Kidd who packs down at 7.
Doug Wilson and Matt Holdstock are the half backs with Mike Hodge and Matt Thompson once again cutting some shapes in midfield. There are changes out wide with Richard Parish and the gazelle Martin Langley, who makes his Old Gs debut, on the wings. The elusive Chris Johnson completes the line up at full back.
Old Gs replacements are Paul Mitchell, the fit again Chris Daniels, and the evergreen Dave Boyer.
Kick-off is at 3pm and all support is welcome!
