MKRUFC in the Community.
At MKRUFC we are passionate about helping the local and wider community, in order to promote rugby to a wider range of people – young and old.
In 2015, MKRUFC created a World Cup Legacy with the aim of donating, distributing and delivering 2015 rugby balls, alongside the Rugby World Cup. The project was a huge success, with several businesses, individuals and parish councils all sponsoring balls. In total MKRUFC ordered and delivered 4030 rugby balls (double the original target) into the community. A fantastic achievement by everyone involved!
As well as this, MKRUFC clubhouse and fields in Emerson Valley, are available and several schools and charities hold their fun days / sports days on the pitches. We encourage and support any opportunity for family fun days.
MKRUFC are also lucky enough to have their own full time Rugby Development Manager, Dan Pearson, who works alongside the RFU and MKSET to deliver and promote rugby in schools across Milton Keynes. Having an RDM in place has been very significant for the club as the number of new players, in all sections of the club – mini, juniors and seniors - has increased MKRUFC playing numbers and is a success in introducing rugby to a wide variety of people.
