(Half Time 2-5)
Fantastic effort from 12 Beccs boys away from home at Gravesend.
With extended thanks to Gravesend for fielding a mixed ability team to ensure an evenly matched and competitive fixture, aswell as very fairly refereeing the entire game.
The day started , with an impeccably observed 2 minute silence at 11am , bringing both clubs , several age groups and the following supporters all together as only the rugby family can , in remembrance of those who gave their lives for our freedom.
Once again when our group come across some adversity, this week with the bare minimum 12 players, and zero subs available, they step up a gear and produce a performance they can all very rightly be proud of. The aim beforehand was to focus on two things, direct running and positive encouragement from all.
What followed, was a simply quite brilliant example of team ethos and working for each other. A huge amount of work rate got through, tackling and intensity at the breakdown, turning balls over at the maul and counter-rucking, aswell as some excellent team trys with the ball going through half a dozen hands, passing at the right time including off-loads, going through multiple structured phases and some excellent running lines.
The pick of the bunch, The final try which started with Gravesend with the ball in attack just inside the Beccs half. The Beccs defence and enthusiasm kept on pushing the Gravesend attack back and back , before they found themselves 5 yards from their own try line, where further pressure resulted in a turnover at the breakdown for Beccs and the final try of the game. Very well done to all the team.

Deserved man of the matches (MOM) were jointly awarded to Ellis for a great solo try with a sharp dummy inside his own half, beating several defenders and out sprinting them to the line. Ewan for his general work rate around the pitch and support play.
Squad: Cathal, George, Kingsley, Aaron, Leo (Captain), Fraser, Josh, Ellis, Ollie, Ewan, Quinn, Louie.
Cathal - Some excellent passing and linking play with teammates. Took a knock on the arm early and did very well to shake it off.
George - Excellent ball carrying, covered alot of ground and always one of the first in support at breakdown.
Kingsley - typically excellent pace and side-stepping people in a phone box. Well deserved hat-trick and cleared up everything from fullback.
Aaron - one thumping tackle, several turnovers ripping the ball in the maul, and great to see some hard and straight running.
Leo - Good link play from scrum-half and organising the defensive line. Captain for the day and led by example, commented on twice by the referee.
Fraser - "Rhino on charge", usual hard running, great counter-rucking and work rate around the pitch rewarded with a great hat-trick.
Josh - a very welcome return after injury, great to see Josh getting stuck in and making several breaks, winning several turnovers at the breakdown and like Ewan tackling everything that moved.
Ellis - superb individual skill and pace for his try. Covered every blade of grass and always in support.
Ollie - Some great passing and running. No hospital trips, everyone's happy !
Ewan - Lots and lots of ground covered, tackled everything that moved, winning many turnovers.
Quinn - Covered the hard yards, always willing to offer himself as a hard and straight runner. Superb.
Louie - Some great running, link and support play, and passing from scrum half.
