The Eagles travel to Matlock this Saturday for a massive match in the ISUZU FA Trophy for Lee Bircham’s side. Last time out, Bedford beat Welwyn Garden City 1-3 at Herns Way in a solid league victory for the team.
The Eagles are in some great form at the moment and are currently maintain a 100%-win rate in the league. Bedford are one of two teams in the English football pyramid to keep this record – Mickleover are the other side to do the same.
Lynton Goss was back on the score sheet against Welwyn and scored his second goal in as many games since joining. He also scored against Ware in the 7-1 demolition to mark his debut for the Eagles.
Louis Walsh has also been on fire for Bedford since joining in the summer. He has scored five as well as providing for his teammates countless times and he has become a crucial player in the team.
In the ISUZU FA Trophy this season, the Eagles have enjoyed two victories from two. A late 2-3 win over Aylesbury United was followed by a penalty win over Bowers & Pitsea after a 0-0 draw. A tough match against Matlock Town awaits.
Matlock have endured a solid start to the season in the Northern Premier League Premier Division as they sit in thirteenth after eleven games. Four of these eleven were wins.
Most recently, the Gladiators lost 5-3 against Gainsborough Trinity. This was a bit different to their previous meeting in the Emirates FA Cup this season where they won 5-2.
