The Eagles face a tough test against Barton Rovers as Lee Bircham’s side look to build open Saturday’s win against Kidlington. This game is also the first Bedfordshire derby of the season for the Eagles.
Last Saturday, Bedford beat Kidlington 5-1 at the Eyrie in a fantastic win for the Eagles. Goals form Ben Spaul, Jack Green, a double from Ryan Blake and one from Alex Collard won the game for Bedford.
The Eagles were looking very impressive against Kidlington and Louis Walsh was causing havoc for the greens defence. Bedford had a strong pre-season and will look to continue this into the league season.
Ryan Blake also got off the mark for Bedford with a brace on his debut. Blake scored five goals in pre-season for the Eagles and is a nuisance for defenders and clinical in front of goal.
Barton Rovers have got off to a good start this season. They have been involved in some very high-scoring games so far after a solid pre-season for Rovers.
They beat Spartan South Midlands Premier Division side, London Lions, 3-5 in the FA Cup last Saturday in a goal fest at Rowley Lane.
In their first league match of the season, Rovers beat North Leigh 3-4 in a fantastic win for Rovers. Taylor Rhiney bagged a brace as well as Lucas Kirkpatrick getting on the scoresheet.
