1st and 3rds register narrow wins whilst the 2nds take a breather - 4th June.

The first team welcomed Woodlands to Wagon Lane badly in need of some points. Recent wins for the clubs who have gathered near the foot of the Permier Division has put the pressure on our boys. Woodlands arrived at Wagon Lane armed with former B&B player Alex Atkinson in their ranks looking to press on with their title challenge. It would not prove a happy return for Atkinson as he was dismissed for a duck leaving Woodlands on 36/3. When Noman Ali picked up his third wicket of the day to break a stubborn 4th wicket partnership Woodlands had recovered to 111/4. The visitors would only add another 29 runs however collapsing to 140 all out after 45.1 overs, Matthew Walker doing the main damage to the tail taking 4-17. Bingley started well with openers Edgar and Best reaching 46 before the former was bowled for 15. Despite this good start Bingley would lose 3 wickets with the score on 48 to leave the chasing hosts on 48/4. Scott and Noman both fell to Chris Brice with the score 58/6. Yessir Abbas cracked a couple of boundaries to help move the score but when he was caught for 12 Bingley were looking 2nd favourites at 76/7. Ryan Norris joined Charlie Best and they set about building a partnership that could save the game. Slowly the runs were ticked off until only 20 more were needed for a crucial victory. Ryan would however go after a short ball from Elliot Richardson only to loop up a simple catch bringing Will Grace to the crease. Luckily Charlie and his 9th partner were able to level the scores before Best departed for a match winning 71. Will was able to hit the winning run in the penultimate over to seal a vital 1 wicket win.

The 2nd team had a free week due to Windhill pulling out of the league.

The 3rd XI hosted neighbours Bingley Congs 2nd XI for the first 'Bingley Derby' since 2012. B&B came out on top in both games that season and we're looking to bounce back from a heavy defeat at Gargrave. Congs won the toss and elected to bat first. Cong's openers made a bright start reaching 23 before Matthew Sharp bowled Charlie Raistrick for 12. Congs looked like they could be on for a good score taking their score to 49 before Zak Hussain took the first of his 8 wickets in an astonishing spell of bowling that saw Congs hustled out for 61. Zak finished with incredible figures of 8-6. The home side's chase got off to a poor start however with Will Johnston (0) and Tim Carrow (6) departing early leaving the score 7/2. Connors was able to move the score on with a few lusty blows before holding out to mid off for 21. Boundaries for James Dobson (5) and Josh Longbottom (4) helped move the score on but when anchor Rick Foulder (4) departed with the score 44/6 the game looked very much in the balance. Dave Critchlow came to the crease and took the score to 55 before Josh became the 7th wicket to fall. Dave (16) was able to take the 3rds to the brink of vicotry but chopped on with 2 still needed. A single a piece from Zak and Jack took B&B beyond Congs' total to grab an important Derby win that leaves the 3rds nicely placed in mid table.
