Under 19's secure a good win but Reserves and First Teams suffer narrow defeats.

The Under 19's began the weeks games with a solid 3-1 win over Altofts U19's on Thurs night. Broddy took the lead when Marcus Edwards was hacked down by the last man just outside the box, amazingly not even a yellow card was produced when a red was the only option. However Joe McIntosh continued his good form by arrowing the free-kick into the top right corner. Joel McCabe added a second and Altofts responded with further crude challenges. Altofts had chances to get back in it and duly did. Joel McCabe struck a third for the blues late on to ensure the points. The end of the match was marred by an altercation between the players which had been likely following some of the challenges earlier in the peace. Calm descended in the end and the referee had nothing to report other than a comfortable 3-1 win.
The Reserves hosted title contenders FC Central in the Doncaster Div 1 cup Semi-Finals. Lee Saxton netted a superb 30yard free-kick but it wasn't enough as they went down 2-1. However a dispute has been lodged with the league as we believe FC Central fielded an illegible player in the game, more news on this later.
The First Team lost by the same margin in the local derby at Bentley Colliery, Bentley scored early on when Dom Senior looked to have been impeded collecting a cross. Broddy looked to keep possession but couldn't make the break through, however Bentleys direct play was causing concern at the other end. The second half was fairly even with the clash of styles not pertaining to good viewing. Bentley extended their lead after Broddy failed to clear their lines after two superb challenges by Jake Starbuck the ball fell to the only Bentley player in the box 2-0. Player Manager James Irwin came on an netted to reduce the arrears after a cross from Shane Carver was superbly set by Culshaw for Irwin to fire home. The late onslaught never materialised and in a game which could have gone either way didn't go our way once again.
The Under 8's were in action away at Warmsworth and enjoyed their morning. Their goal on the day was a left footed curling free kick from Jacob Oliver.
