Loan deal with Welsh Premier Club adds experience and quality

Spectators at the recent Denbigh Town v Conwy Borough game will be aware that the club have signed a new midfield player on loan from Welsh Premier side Newtown AFC.

Our new signing is 32 yr Damien Allen who brings a wealth of experience with him. Damien was with Manchester United academy up to 14 yrs of age before moving to his home club Stockport where he played his football before going abroad on loan to Royal Antwerp in 2007. After his spell in Belgium he returned to the UK and signed for Morecambe FC where he played under manager Sammy McIlroy. Further moves followed in the coming seasons and he joined Bury, Halifax Town, Aberystwyth and Colwyn Bay. Damien's longest spell, though, was at Bangor City where he made a name for himself as a top midfielder in the Welsh Premier League making nearly 200 appearances in 6 years before signing for Newtown.

Joint manager Dewi Llion said that he is exited to bring such a quality player to the club. He added that Damien has not played for some time due to various changes in work but he is fit and should not take too long to shake off any rustiness.

Matty Jones said " Having been on a coaching course with Damien and having followed his career from afar we know we have signed not only a truly quality player but a really top man as well who will add so much to the dressing room at this vital stage in the season."

Welcome to Central Park and good luck Damien!
