He described how he was "smashed" by keeper Toby Wood - then had his shirt pulled on the edge of the box by Kenny Sanders, who had already been booked.
Dean said: "It's a derby. so I think we were expecting it in a way. Their challenges were a little bit rash, a little bit hot-headed.
"We kept our calm. We played the way we normally do and we got the job done."
Deano - speaking in a View From The Pitch video - also described how team spirit in the dressing room was key to the team's success.
He added: "We're on a good run. We can only keep going and try to be up there at the end of the season.
"In the changing room everyone likes each other, there's no big time people like there are at other clubs. We all get on and that shows on the pitch.
"We all know our jobs and we just get them done."
