Harworth Colliery Football Club History

The club was formed in 1931, playing in local leagues. They joined the Yorkshire League in 1946/47 but stayed only 4 seasons before playing many years in the Doncaster Senior League. After this they joined the Sheffield County Senior League and these were the most productive years in terms of trophies won. They become the first club to win both the Wharncliffe Charity Cup and County Senior League Championship in 1975/76. In 1977, the Yorkshire League accepted the club back in to it's membership. Harworth have for many years been members of the Central Midlands Football League, struggling the past few years and relegated to the Premier Division. With the league being re structured for the 2008-09 season we took the chance to play in the supreme division again under the management of Mark Brogan, we had a succesfull year finishing a respectful 7th, and achieving the Central Midlands team of the Month for October. In 2011-2012 season the Supreme Division was spilt into North and South with the club based in the Northern section.

The club is also one of the founding members for The FA Northern Midlands Under 19's Football League and has a team in the second tier of the three tired division. This league is now in its 16th season.
