Managers Programme notes ahead of todays League game V Ollerton Town

WELCOME TO SCROOBY ROAD
Hello and welcome to Scrooby Road Recreational ground for today’s league game against local rivals Ollerton.
Well what a month it has been, all the doom gloom of the start of the season seems to have evaporated as we have won 6 and drawn one of the last 7 games including an excellent cup win on Tuesday night against title favourites Westella VIP.
It has been quite a turnaround in results a late and this has been down to sheer hard work on and off the pitch and make no bones about it the new signings and players returning have a made a big difference but the biggest difference for me is that the original players from the start of the season have raised their games due to their being competition for places.
It’s fantastic to see players returning to the club and shows that there were no hard feelings when the players left to better themselves and made it clear from the start our door would always be open if it did not work out.
In all we have recently had 4 players return from different clubs, Lee Edmondson and Jay Bownes have returned from Parkgate, Greg Archer has returned from Selby Town, and Matty Bradley has returned from Armthorpe, we have also recently signed two youngsters with bright futures, Matty Robinson has signed from Hallam and 16 year old Josh Dickinson has signed for his first adult club and both have done fantastic in the short time at the club.
The influx in players have left me with a real headache when it comes to picking the team but it’s a headache I’ve been wanting to have all season !
On to today’s game and we will need to be firing on all cylinders if we are to get anything out of today’s game, Ollerton have always been a tough nut to crack and the away game at the start of the season saw us escape with a point after being battered in the 1st half but kenzie Tomlinson rescued a point late on for us.
There is always a bit of a bite in the local Derby’s games and the same goes for both management teams but the game is always played in the right manner and the banter on and off the pitch is always ended with a friendly hand shake at the end of the game.
Today’s game should be a real cracker so fasten your seatbelts and grab yourself a pre match refreshment from Tom’s Tea room.
May I take this opportunity to extend a warm welcome to Ollerton’s officials and supporters and hope everyone enjoys the game and have a safe journey home.
