It’s time for the Old Eds Annual General Meeting. It's your chance to stop complaining about the way that the club is run and actually do something about it. If you’re prepared to give a couple of hours a week, and that is really all it needs to be, then come along to the AGM and get yourself onto the general committee, or stand for one of the club positions that are available to vote on. But only if you are prepared to actually put some work into the club. We are looking for active volunteers who want to make a difference and are prepared to ensure that a number of subcommittees actually function and that the executive committee is monitored and advised by the general committee.

The executive committee exists to ensure that the club runs smoothly on a day to day basis, but club policy and direction has to be approved by the general committee and whilst it may in general be formulated at executive level it has to be considered and approved by the general committee before it becomes policy. But in order to do that the club needs a viable general committee. Not just a talking shop but a collection of committed members who are prepared to give a small amount of their time to the running of the club. A very important role.

Proposal for Officers

One of the tasks at the Annual General Meeting is the election of Officers.

The positions to be elected are:

President
President elect
Hon Secretary
Fixture Secretary
Treasurer

If you wish to stand yourself or to propose someone for one of the above positions you will need to have the agreement of the person standing together with a proposer and seconder. All three parties will need to be fully paid up members of NOERFC and any proposals will need to be received by the Hon Secretary before 7pm on 19th May 2016.
