3. Rules


  1. The name of the draw is the 1871 Club ("the Draw") regardless of the number of shares.
  2. The Draw will be administered by an Administrator appointed by the Executive Committee of Old Pauline Football Club ("the Club"). Any change in the details of the Administrator will be publicised on the Club notice board and on the Club website.
  3. Only Members of the Club aged 16 or over are entitled to purchase shares in the Draw but parents or guardians of younger Members may also purchase shares. A purchaser of a share becomes a Participant in the Draw. Participants are entitled to hold any number of shares. Participants who resign their membership of the Club may retain their share(s) in the Draw.
  4. The number of shares in the Draw shall be unlimited and each share shall be allocated a unique number.
  5. The Draw shall run throughout the calendar year. There shall be a draw made for each calendar month and the prize values shall be as follows:
  6. • 1st prize: £116 • 2nd prize: £58 • 3rd prize: £58 • 4th prize: £29 • 5th prize: £29
  7. Prize-winners will be notified at the last email address held by the Administrator for that Participant. It is the responsibility of a Participant to advise the Administrator of any change. The Administrator will use his best endeavours to locate prize-winners but any winner not located within 6 months will be deemed a donation to the Club. A list of prize-winners will also be posted on the Club's website.
  8. The total prize winnings paid out each month total £290. The excess contribution(s) made by Draw Participants shall be paid into a savings account to be used for good causes for the Club, as deemed fit by the Executive Committee.
  9. The subscription for each share is £5 per month payable monthly via standing order, or via direct debit if through a playing membership.
  10. A Participant's share(s) will participate in the monthly draws for as long as payment has been made for the month of the draw. Every paid up share will be included in every monthly draw. Any Participant whose subscription falls into arrears shall automatically forfeit the right to be included in any future draw until payment is made.
  11. The Administrator will not pay a prize to any Participant other than the purchaser(s) of a winning share.
  12. No subscription will be refunded.
  13. The Administrator will determine any dispute. An appeal may be made to the Executive Committee of the Club, who will convene a sub-committee consisting of Chairman of the Club, Treasurer and another member of the Executive Committee whose decision shall be final.
  14. The Draw is intended to be a private lottery under the provisions of the Lotteries and Amusements Act 1976, as amended.
