Albion won 3-2 away at Glossop North End.

Rob Bordman with 2 and Nicky Matthews were Albion's scorers.

Ossett Albion put in a superb performance in atrocious conditions to beat high fliers Glossop North End 3-2 and inflict on them their first home defeat of the season. The match was played in torrential rain throughout and it is great credit to Glossop that their pitch held up so well.
Glossop started well creating a couple of early chances but the Albion defence held firm and they started to create chances of their own.

It took until the stroke of half time however, for the deadlock to be broken. Albion were awarded a free kick on the edge of the box when perhaps a penalty would have been more appropriate the offence seemingly being just inside the box. To free kick specialist Rob Bordman however it made no difference. His well place effort nestling in the far corner of the net with the 'keeper well and truly beaten. Glossop just had time to restart the game before referee Adam Smith blew for half time.

Albion started well in the second half and doubled their lead on 55 minutes when scorer turned provider as Bordman found Nicky Matthews in space on the edge of the box and he did not disappoint, coolly slotting past the advancing keeper. Albion continued to play well but a ‘mad minute’ almost cost them the well earned victory. 2 goals from Glossop in less than 60 seconds brought the scores level and it looked as though Albion’s heads would go down and the hosts became favourites to take the spoils. Albion however are made of much sterner stuff nowadays and continued to press for the winner.

Substitutes, Connor Bower and Talent Ndlovu both went close and Rob Bordman also forced an excellent save from the 'keeper. As the game went into injury time looking as though Glossop had saved their undefeated home record, a brilliant individual effort from Rob Bordman earned Albion a well deserved but hard fought three points. He cut in from the right beating two men in the box before smashing the ball into the roof of the net to the delight of the visiting supporters.

Albion have now scored 10 goals in their last three games and recorded three victories.
