Albion drew 2 - 2 away at Witton Albion in the F A Trophy after being 2 goals down.

Ossett Albion could well have been dead and buried after 15 minutes in the FA Trophy game at Wincham Park.

It took the host only 4 minutes to open their account from the spot following Declan Dawson’s mistimed tackle. Brett Souter got a hand to Daniel Andrews’ penalty but the power of the shot carried it over the line. Witton doubled their lead 4 minutes later when a rare mistake from Dominic Riordan allowed Christopher Baker in. It should have been game set and match on 15 minutes when Witton missed a golden opportunity to make it 3-0, shooting wide when it looked much easier to score.

From then on Albion upped a gear and went close on a couple of occasions before Rob Bordman reduced the arrears on 39 minutes.

The second half was an excellent advert for Northern Premier League football with both sides playing attacking football and creating chances. It was the visitors who got the goal though when Connor Brunt cut in from the right to beat the Witton keeper at the near post to level the scores.

Both teams had chances to win it but in the end a draw was a fair result and the teams do it all again on Tuesday night.
