After last weeks defeat the 1s were keen to put things right. In the 1st half whilst the effort and endeavour was their, calmness and composure was abscent. In what turned out to be less than a classic the team turned around at half time after playing up the slope 12-7 to the good with try's from Langstaff and Ackers.
The 2nd half started with Ossett exerting a sustained period of pressure through their forwards which lead to a debatable try by their no 4. At this point Skipton decided they wanted to play, scoring a team try finished by Langstaff and whilst keen to collect the bonus point skipper Binner opted to take an easy 3 which it be told closed out the game. With a few minutes on the clock it was left to Langstaff to chip his man and score under the posts for his 3rd.
It was another week where certain individual performances got the result for the team, positively though its different individuals each week and if they can all hit their straps in the same 80 minutes the opposition are in for a hell of a day
Man of the match was James Lockhart for his work rate in the back row, whilst a strong debut performance was given by new signing John Currie in the centres.
Next week the 1s have a week off to fine tune before they face Halifax.
