The season is nearly upon us and to kick off (oops push off) we are starting with our club Open Day/Hockey Fest on Sunday 4th September.
This Hockey Fest is open to all, irrelevant of age or experience, parents, volunteers, and umpires are welcome to come along too. It's not important if you have never played hockey before all the more reason to come along... taking up hockey is a great opportunity to make new friends and get regular exercise in a fun and sociable environment. If you have played before at whatever level then come along and check out the Club. Thirsk Hockey Club is a very friendly, sociable club, so come and meet us. And you'll love the satisfaction of scoring your first goal!
The Hockey Fest will take place at Thirsk Floodlit Astro Pitch, entrance off Gravel Hole Lane. There will be hockey for all ages, genders and abilities, bring a friend. We’ll be starting at 10am with the junior and senior players intermixing to play in small sided games, finishing around 1pm. Changing facilities are available along with toilets. Food and refreshments will be available throughout the entire day. ENTRANCE IS FREE to all.
There’s no excuse not to come down and have some fun, so why don’t you just “Give it a Go”
Representatives from our club teams will be on hand to show you how it’s done and you can speak with them about playing hockey or volunteering at Thirsk.
There will be stalls for fund raising: • Cake stall* (can you help by baking a cake)
• Second hand kit stall*
• Tombola/Raffle* (prizes needed)
We are looking for some parents to help with the coordination of the day – please email Bev Longthorne if you can help in anyway - bake a cake/help on a stall/putting up bunting and gazebos. This is too much for one person to do.
We will also be taking club membership and training fees on the day, to ease the first training session back. A membership form is attached and cost information for training is listed below.
We look forward to seeing you all on Sunday 4th September.
