On a cool and drizzly Saturday.

The team today against York were Andy Watson in goal, Mike Rushmere, Michael Crampton, Andy Young and Paul Barlow in defence. Then Michael Darcy, Liam Shannon, George Hall and Ronan Meeham in midfield. Alex Kennedy and Jonathan Craske appeared in attack. Within minutes of the start Michael D passed the ball to Liam, who passed the ball to Alex who coolly put the ball into the corner of the goal. Thirsk had most of the play. York looked threatening on the attack, but the defence held the York forwards but with minutes left in the first half York got the equaliser and then went ahead. After half time Thirsk came out determined to give York a game. George passed the ball to Liam who ran into the D and put the ball onto a York foot. Jonathan injected the ball to Liam who smashed the ball into the right side of the goal. Unfortunately, within minutes York took the lead. The Thirsk defence kept York at bay, getting the ball out to the midfield. Ronan got the ball from Paul who hit to Jonathan who ran into the D and got to the back line and passed the ball to George who slotted the ball past the keeper. In the last minutes of the game York got a break down the right side and scored. A very exciting game, end to end, which ended 4-4.
