Uddingston Rugby is currently working with the SRU to create an ambitious youth development programme for 2015-2017.
The programme which will be funded by URFC and SRU, hopefully with assistance from lottery funding, will initially aim to provide continuous coaching in all local primary and secondary schools within our catchment area. The ultimate aim is to generate greater player numbers at both the schools and at the club.
While the plan is being developed by URFC, SRU and the schools at this point we need to identify persons able to assist on the delivery of the programme.
We envisage that the programme will involve the recruitment of at least one Modern Apprentice Community Coach plus a number of other coaches to provide additional coaching support on ad-hoc basis.
Full details of the MA programme are available at:
http://www.scottishrugby.org/modernapprenticeships
Applications are invited from all 16-19 year olds who may be interested.
The other coaching opportunities would suit perhaps existing/ex players, parents, coaches or anyone else keen to get involved. You would need to commit to achieving either UKCC Level 1 or 2 coaching qualifications. All training costs will be fully covered and remuneration paid for time spent coaching.
All applications for both the MA post(s) and coaching posts should be sent to mike-mckeown@hotmail.co.uk
At this point we don’t need CV’s etc, just a note of your contact details and a few sentences as to why you think you would want to be considered/participate. We hope to sit down with everyone interested in the next few weeks and fully discuss or plans and how you may be able to help.
