Chester-le-Street scored five to see off Willington, who scored twice in reply. Glen Hargrave gave them an early lead, with Ben Johnson making it 2-0. Reece Marshall pulled a goal back for Willington, but Scott Heslop and Leigh Guthrie made it 4-1. Liam Whitworth replied for Willington, but Guthrie made sure with a fifth. Chester-le-Street manager Colin Wake said; “We made hard work of it, and to be truthful 5-2 flatters us slightly. We started well going 2-0 up very quickly then sat back and struggled from then on until we scored the third midway through the second half. Willington increased lowly Esh Winning’s woes when they beat them 3-1 at Hall Lane. Adam Burnicle gave Willington an early lead, but Anthony Phillipson levelled for Esh. Aidan Goodey with a penalty on 58 minutes and Burnicle in the last minute scored for Willington in the second half. View News Item »
Willington lost to second placed Team Northumbria. They were ahead for three minutes after Reece Marshall put them in front on 20 minutes, but Josh Draycott equalised. Luke Hannant put TN ahead on 48 minutes, but new signing Adam Burnicle appeared to give Willington a point with a goal on 80 minutes. However, Kane White scored the winner with five minutes left.
