Willington let a two goal lead slip against Heaton Stannington and had to settle for a 2-2 draw. Adam Burnicle scored twice for Willington to give him 23 league goals for the season, but Heaton replied with efforts by Adam Rowntree and Adrian Watson. Heaton Stannington assistant manager Geoff Walker said; “We totally dominated the game but dropped two points. We gifted them two goals with poor defensive errors. I was pleased with the way we fought back from 2-0 down and nearly won it at the death but for a world class save by their keeper. Our great unbeaten run continues but we have a tough away game next at Northallerton.” Willington manager Rob Lee said; “We had six players missing, and three Under 18s played. We did well and went 2-0 up, but Heaton pulled it back to 2-2. A draw was a fair result.” MATCH STATS: SHOTS:4:12 SHOTS ON TARGET: 3:5 CORNERS: 2:11 OFFSIDES: 4:1 FOULS COMMITTED: 9:16 ATTENDANCE: 100. View News Item »
