Witham Town are pleased to announce the loan signings of Kane Farrell and Ellis Brown from League 2 Southend
United FC. Kane is left sided full back and Ellis is a forward. Kane has been at Southend for several years from
a kid and is now in his 3rd year scholarship with the club. Ellis was previously with Charlton for 10 years before
signing his first pro contract having left Charlton and impressed Phil Brown. Assistant manager Brad King said
" first of all I would like to thank Phil Brown for agreeing to the loan deals. Both have big futures and settled
in well. They both had great debuts at Royston today and Ellis scored as well so he is off and running already
which is pleasing for both parties. Both their attitudes are brilliant and we are pleased to have them. The timing
of Kane arrival is perfect as Seb Murfet has a new job preventing him from playing for a while. We all thank
Seb for everything he has contributed to the club success and hopefully it may change. He will stay registered
with us."
The 3rd signing is forward Luke Callender on dual registration from neighbours Chelmsford City FC. He won't need
much introduction as well known for his prolific scoring record in Ryman football. A coup of a signing for the
football club and shows how far the club have come.
Brad king said " thanks goes to Hawksey for allowing it to happen. It is great for all parties involved. Garry
and I was keen to make this happen as for me he is perfect fit for us and knows a few boys already which helps.
I've known Luke off the field for a while now and he is the type of character that Garry and myself look for.
I have no doubt he will have a huge impact and look forward to working with him."
Welcome to all 3 of the boys to the football club.
We can also confirm that the football club have parted ways with Lee Townrow and wish him all the best and thank
him for his contribution.
