Marine completed their pre season programme on Saturday as they beat Kendal Town 2-1 in the South Lakes on Saturday.
Tommy Lawson's men played 6 games in the build up to the new season and remained undefeated, winning 3 and drawing 3 but more importantly gaining fitness and shape from the new look squad.
The Yellows fielded a more experimental first half eleven with Peter Wylie and James Murray returning after having had spells out of the country.
Marine created a number of early chances but the home side gradually got on top in the opening 45 minutes, Danny McGahon giving the Cumbrians the lead with a cross that from the right found the net off the far post.
The visitors were a much changed team after the break and always looked the more likely winners once Danny Mitchley had converted from the spot after a foul on Dom Reid, following a nice build up down the right.
That was also the route for the winning goal, Dave Webb putting in a good cross for Mitchley to score with a strong header from 12 yards.
