Welcome to the Pontefract RUFC U14's homepage!
PontefractU14 are part of a thriving junior section at Pontefract rugby club with great facilities and lots of enthusiasm , we are delighted to have a friendly and committed squad of Under 14 players turning out to train and play each week. We are fortunate to have a well structured coaching and support team that ensures an excellent coach to player ratio. Our coaching team, led by James Grant is striving to bring good player and team development whilst creating an atmosphere of enjoyment to parents and players.
Our over-riding objective is to ensure that all the players get to play rugby in a safe, friendly, supportive and fun environment. Our focus is on the enjoying the sport and players of all levels of experience are welcome. Our coaching philosophy is based upon inclusiveness and development of the individual. Individual development plans will be produced and personal goals discussed, agreed, and reviewed on a regular basis. Our squads are always made up of a mixture of talent and ability, and all players get an equal amount of game time and training. Whilst inclusive in approach we remain a competitive team with a desire to compete and win. To achieve this we need players to show dedication, commitment, as well as a desire to succeed. We are committed to instilling and upholding the RFU’s core values of Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline, and Sportsmanship.
During the season the U14s train Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6.15pm to 7.30pm at Moor Lane , Pontefract. On Sunday mornings, we usually have matches against other clubs, either at home or away, as shown on the fixture list on this website. If you’re not sure, why not just drop by on a Tuesday or Thursday evening to meet the coaches, support staff, and players.
