There was just one change from the side that beat Kirkley. With George Yusuff away, Reece Hunn returned to slot in at left back whilst Kyle Ingram switched to the right.
The opening 20 minutes gave no indication of how the match would eventually pan out. Walden made the better start whilst the Greens seemed at sixes and sevens defensively and Kyle Ingram was lucky to escape a card when he pulled back the tricky James Crane after he appeared to have broken through.
Gorleston did come close to scoring through Ismael Fatadjo when he got behind the defence and rounded the keeper. His touch took him wide though and his shot, as he stretched and fell, went over the bar.
Joel Watts sent in a shot from the edge of the box which keeper Niel O'Sullivan saved well. Connor Ingram chested the rebound just wide although the linesman flagged for offside so it wouldn't have counted. Pictures show he wasn't offside though when Watts had shot so just as well he missed!
Gorleston took the lead in the 37th minute from their first corner of the match.
Connor Ingram floated the kick towards the edge of the box where it was met by Deeks and he guided his header over the keeper into the net.
The lead lasted just two minutes. Crane went down in the box and the ref pointed to the spot. Charlie Portway made no mistake with the kick, sending Taurean Molloy the wrong way.
As half time approached Oliver Emsden weaved through several challenges before poking the ball past an advancing Molloy but the ball went a yard wide.
A minute into stoppage time Gorleston regained the lead. Elliott Hannant drilled a cross in from the left and Connor Ingram stooped to plant a diving header into the net.
It was like a different Gorleston as the second half started with the Greens getting the ball down and playing much better football.
Joel Watts bore down on goal with only the keeper to beat only to be halted by the refs whistle as he pulled it back for a foul to Gorleston 25 yards out. Mitch McKay drilled the free kick straight through to the keeper.
A neat Maradona turn by Aarron Taylor gave himself a shooting chance in a congested penalty area but a defender blocked. Kyle Ingram picked out Watts whose shot was saved, Fatadjo turning and prodding the rebound wide.
Connor Molloy then put a free header over Taurean Molloy's crossbar at the other end.
The Greens made it three after 65 minutes. Connor Ingram on the edge of the box, held off his marker and drilled a right footer into the top corner of the net.
Its now five goals in four games for the striker so far this season.
Four minutes later it could have been four when Deeks header from a corner rebounded off the inside of the post, Taylor nodding the follow up over.
A mazy McKay meander through several challenges saw his effort saved by the keeper as Gorleston were now in full flow.
Jack Garrod came on for his first appearance of the season and was lucky to escape a yellow for some simulation before a strong Luke Goreham challenge left its mark on the Walden player and on another day could have been a red card, today the ref was happy just to give a free kick.
Connor Ingram could have had another with a header from a Garrod cross but the Greens had to wait until injury time before scoring again.
Firstly Garrod lofted the ball over the advancing keeper from about 20 yards.
Then, four minutes into stoppage time, it was Deeks turn to chip the keeper, this time from close to the penalty spot. Deeks has now scored four in four since joining the Greens.
Match sponsor Mick Payne awarded the Batemans man of the match to Connor Deeks.
