Goal scorer signs for Denbigh

By Stephen Whitfield

Well known local player joins the Reds

After a tough training session at Denbigh this morning 25 yr Jacob Walker signed for the Town hoping to continue to score goals.

Jacob, originally from Llanfair T H and now residing at St Asaph, has played for Llansannan, Glan Conwy and St Asaph but has decided that he likes what he sees at Central Park and wants to see what he can do at Cymru Alliance level. Whilst accepting that there is a huge gap in standards local people will know Jacob because and has scored an incredible 44 goals in 20 matches for Cefn in the Llandyrnog and District Summer League so far this season. He keeps on stepping up a level every season and hopes to do well at Denbigh saying " I want to work hard here and force myself into the reckoning. The coaches are class and the players that are here are quality."

He is naturally right sided but can put the ball away with either foot as well as his head. He enjoys playing as a target man and always has an eye for goal.

Matty Jones said " They all trained hard this morning including Jacob. We have done our best to get local players where we can and Jacob is another we have had our eye on. It is refreshing to hear his views. He knows he has to work hard and concentrate on all aspects of his play at this level. He can score goals and that is always a good thing! We are very pleased to have him here."
