
From local football to the AFC Bournemouth U21s in just a few months for 16yr old local boy Fin Phillips.
Fin joined the AFC Bournemouth Football and Education Development Program based at Ryde Academy 6th Form on August 1st this season. Fin quickly developed under the watchful eye of former England International Steve Hunt, and current AFC Bournemouth FDP head coach on the Isle of Wight.
He was soon sent to train with the AFC Bournemouth U18s and after a successful couple of weeks of training at AFC Bournemouth He has joined the U18s until the end of the season.
The opportunity for local based Island boys to showcase there talents within the structure of an English Premier League club and get a very good education at the same time, has enabled young players like Fin, to be maybe have a chance of achieving his dreams.
The AFC Bournemouth Football development program in Ryde has been a massive success with four Island based players having spent time at AFC Bournemouth under U18 coach Carl Fletcher.
