Old Varndeanians Football Club, established in 1929, is one of the most successful social and community football clubs in Brighton. As well as having the tradition of playing attractive and successful football backed up by solid administration, the adult section of the club is also the envy of many in the Brighton area with its home pitches and facilities at the Falmer campus of the University of Brighton including the latest floodlit 3G artificial pitch.

The club’s success on the pitch in recent years is second to none. The first team has won the Premier Division of the Mid Sussex and Brighton Football Leagues seven times in the past twelve years. The club is also very proud to have won six fair play awards in the past seven seasons.

In 2009 the Club launched a new Youth section and currently (2014/15) runs seven youth teams in the following age groups:

U-18s
U-15 Girls
U-12s
U-11s
U-10s
U-9s

U-7s

The recently formed Youth Section shares much in common with the older side of the Club. The culture of playing attractive football whilst upholding the values of fair play and sportsmanship, yet remaining both competitive and successful , have been the hallmark of Old Varndeanians Football Club for decades.

In season (2011/12) the Youth Section of the Club forged strong links with Brighton Aldridge Community Academy (ex Falmer School) enabling us to utilise their excellent playing fields for home matches.

The Old Varndeanians Football Club has a great history as one of Brighton’s oldest and well respected football clubs. It is rightly proud of it’s success on the pitch and it’s management off it.

2014 has seen...

"Winning is being better today than you were yesterday, everyday. You are the best in the world at being who you are, just be better at being you.” – Frank Dick, O.B.E.
