Season update
As stated in an earlier post, the Club had a mediocre start to the season losing their first 3 matches. Injuries and work commitments preventing them from fielding full strength teams.
From October to mid February the team went undefeated in 7 league matches achieving some fine victories in this period.
3 defeats followed against the top teams in the league but a draw away at Cartmel and a win in the local derby v Windermere followed by beating Keswick Res on their own patch have been excellent performances.
The first night match of the season being the derby match against Windermere Reserves produced an excellent performance winning 4 - 0. A heavy snow shower just before the match started did not prevent a bumper crowd from attending. Goals from James Bowen ( 10 goals so far ) , Alex Jackson ( 17 goals so far ) , Charlie Routledge and Carlos Purcell on his debut.
Following this game away at Keswick Reserves the team were again forced to make several changes. Finding themselves 3 - 0 down after 50 minutes the team staged a remarkable comeback to record a 4 - 3 victory. 2 goals from Charlie Routledge and 2 from Alex Jackson adding to his mighty impressive tally.
The team have also progressed to the semi - final of the Mason and Freeman Cup where they will play Kendal Utd Reserves after having a good 3 - 0 win over Staveley in the previous round.
Player wise the club has been unable to find a regular goalkeeper though the lads who have played in goals have all given of their best. The new younger lads James and Harry Bowen , Dan Sanderson , Alex Jackson and Jake Walker have been a revelation for the club with the regular older heads of Charlie Routledge, Dan Fox ,Matt High ,Dan Nevinson , Elliot Wilson , Calvin Moorhead and Byrom Stephenson all contributing with their experience.
The club have welcomed back Wojtek to the squad and are more than happy to have new players Nedqiko , Carlos , Louis and Adam
