The Beccs Big Build – Progress So Far… and What Comes Next [@ August 2026]

When the Beccs Big Build was first launched, we had one simple ambition: to create a clubhouse that reflects the fantastic rugby club and community that Beccehamian RFC has become.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our members, supporters, local businesses, volunteers and funding partners, that ambition is becoming a reality.

What We've Achieve
Over the last few years, we've reached some significant milestones.

Our new changing facilities have transformed the experience for everyone who uses the club. They provide modern, RFU-compliant facilities for men's, women's, boys' and girls' rugby, together with dedicated officials' changing rooms, improved medical and physio facilities, and additional storage. Most importantly, they ensure that our rapidly growing women's and girls' sections have facilities that properly reflect the important role they now play within our club. We've also completed our fantastic roof terrace, which has quickly become a favourite place for members and visitors to enjoy rugby, socialise with friends and take in the view across the pitches. It's already proving to be one of the most popular additions to the clubhouse.

These achievements have only been possible because of the incredible efforts of our members and supporters. Together, we have raised substantial funds through community crowdfunding campaigns, numerous sponsored events, Buy-a-Brick, Christmas raffles, race nights, social events, individual challenges, donations and grants. Every event—large or small—has brought us one step closer to our goal, and we are enormously grateful to everyone who has contributed their time, energy and generosity along the way.

Why We're Not Finished Yet
Although we've achieved so much, the Beccs Big Build isn't complete.

Our next objective is to complete the enlarged social space and finish the remaining phases of the project, creating a modern, flexible and fully accessible clubhouse that can be enjoyed by everyone.

The remaining works include creating a spacious new social area, installing a lift to provide access to all floors, improving facilities for disabled members and visitors, and ensuring our clubhouse is welcoming and inclusive for people of all ages and abilities.

Completing these final stages will allow us to:

  • Welcome our growing membership.
  • Improve access throughout the clubhouse with the installation of a lift.
  • Better support disabled members, volunteers and visitors.
  • Host larger club and community events.
  • Provide improved facilities for visiting teams.
  • Support local schools, charities and community groups.
  • Create a venue that can be hired for celebrations, meetings and local events.
  • Ensure Beccehamians remains one of the leading community rugby clubs in Kent for generations to come.
  • As our club continues to grow, so too does the demand on our facilities. Completing this final phase is about far more than finishing a building—it's about creating a clubhouse that is inclusive, accessible and fit for the future.

Why Your Support Matters
The Beccs Big Build has always been about much more than bricks and mortar.

It's about giving every player—from our youngest Mini through to our Walking Rugby members—the facilities they deserve.

It's about supporting the continued growth of women's and girls' rugby, making our clubhouse fully accessible, and creating a welcoming space where the whole community can come together.

Every donation, fundraising event, corporate sponsorship and volunteer contribution helps move us closer to completing this vision.

The Journey So Far
The Beccs Big Build has been driven by the determination and generosity of our members, supporters and local community. Every event, every donation and every volunteer hour has helped move the project forward.

Our journey includes:

  • The launch of the Beccs Big Build – creating a vision for a clubhouse fit for the future.
  • Community Crowdfunding Campaign – with hundreds of supporters helping to kick-start the project.
  • Grants and Donations – securing valuable funding from organisations (including the RFU, Kent RFU and Sports England), local businesses and generous individuals.
  • Our Buy a Brick Campaign - TO BUY-A-BRICK CLICK HERE.
  • Sponsored Challenges – including walks, cycle rides and personal fundraising efforts undertaken by members and supporters.
  • Christmas Raffles and Club Fundraising Events – bringing our community together while raising vital funds.
  • Race Nights, Social Events and Club Activities – proving that every event, no matter how big or small, contributes to the bigger picture.
  • Completion of the New Changing Facilities – providing first-class facilities for all sections of the club. They were opened on 22nd March 2025 by former England Captain Maxine Edwards.
  • Opening of the Roof Terrace (March 2026) – creating a wonderful social space that has already become a focal point of club life.
  • 3+4 October 2026 – 24-Hour Sponsored Walk – our next major fundraising event, where members, supporters and three Chelsea Pensioners will come together for an unforgettable 24-hour community challenge.
Every milestone has been achieved because people believed in the vision.

Every pound raised has been invested back into the future of Beccehamians RFC.

Every person who has bought a raffle ticket, made a donation, completed a sponsored challenge, volunteered their time or simply supported our events has played a part in building the club we are all proud to call home.

Together, we've achieved an incredible amount.

Now, with your continued support, let's finish the Beccs Big Build and create a clubhouse that will serve our members and the wider community for generations to come.
