New leagues have been drawn up for next season with both Beccs 1st and 2nd XVs now in the league system.

Beccs Men's 1st XV will still be in Level 7 rugby season in a newly named league called Counties 1 - Kent. The other teams include: Ashford, Bromley, Aylesford Bulls, Bromley, Charlton Park, Cranbrook, Crowborough, Deal & Bettshanger, Folkestone, Heathfield & Waldron, Old Olleynians, Thanet Wanderers.

In September 2022 Lower XV teams are able to enter RFU leagues [English Clubs Championship] up to Counties 1 (formerly level 7) in the men’s game, subject to fulfilling specified criteria. Lower XV are able to enter the league system in line with the core principles of the Future Competition Structure:

  • improve player welfare
  • reduce travel time/distance
  • improve the player experience/quality of the competition
  • support club sustainability
  • The expression of interest forms that clubs were asked to fill out if they wanted to enter a team saw 161 clubs expressing an interest in entering 191 teams.

To that end our Men's 2nd XV will play in level 10 in the Counties 4 - Kent league with Askeans, Brockleains, Dartfordians II, Foots Cray, Greenwich, Lordswood, Old Gravesendians, Sheppey, Sidcup III, Sitingbourne, Weavering Warriors and Tonbridge Juddians III.

We wish both teams all the luck and hope the competition for starting places will now hot up.
