Beccs 5 v 20 Langley Park Boys School (Year 8)

Fantastic and really competitive game of rugby, thank you again to Langley Park School and Mr Brennan for the fixture, and all the families and friends for providing some great support in numbers from the sidelines.
Some top rugby, closely fought, and extended congratulations to all boys for their excellent fair play and spirit over both fixtures. (previous fixture report here).

With six of the Beccs boys attending LPSB, again some understandable divided loyalties in this fixture. Some determined captaincy from Oliver.B and Adam (against his school) and a great debut in the centre from Ben, who only had his first training session with us barely 3 days previously !

Al Mcgill, again excellently and fairly refereed, Libby Burrows for catering hot-dogs afterwards, Paul Thirkettle opening the bar, Nigel Putner for operating the electronic scoreboard, and Paul Harrington for once again taking some outstanding action shots despite the descending mist at the end.

With 19 in the Beccs squad, and around the same from LPSB, it's really great to see nearly 40, 12-13 year olds enjoying rugby under the excellent floodlight facilities, for a mid-week and school night fixture.

Wishing our friends Langley Park Boys School a most enjoyable and memorable tour to Youlgreave & Manchester this weekend too.
