Bentley U11 Arrows versus Chelmsford

Bentley 222 / 6 Chelmsford 263 / 4 Bentley lost by 41 runs.

Bentley lost the toss and Chelmsford elected to bat first. Again our strength was in our bowling and fielding which restricted Chelmsford to 263. This was not a matching winning total so all to play for.
Wickets were attributed to Daniel France (1) and Theo Page (3). Chelmsford scored 59 runs, with a third solid pairing who added 20 runs, plus we again gave an unsatisfactory total of 28 extras.
With regard are batting it was pleasing to see all our team contribute runs. Special mention to Daniel France with 13, not out, and Maddy’s and Ben’s solid partnership of 7 not out. Our score was helped by Chelmsford dropping 5 easy catches! Chelmsford’s bowling was accurate which resulted in only 13 extras being given away.
We do however need to accumulate more runs as we cannot rely on the opponents giving away extras. We missed out on a number of potential 2nd runs between the wickets by slow running on the first. The score difference was attributed to us losing 2 more wickets, giving more 15 extras and Chelmsford scoring 14 more runs so all areas for improvement.
