Having won the toss, Bentley asked our hosts to bat first in our second League game of the season.

Good early catches from Gabriel Warren and Ben Hawker promised much for Bentley, but Billericay advanced to 264 after 10 overs, without further loss. The bowling was tighter in the second half of the innings, with only a net 19 runs added for the loss of 4 more wickets, with Gabriel and Ben adding wickets to their earlier catches. Jude Carolan (2) and Daniel France were the other wicket takers, with a run out too. The final total of 283 for 6 included 50 extras, which was disappointing.

Archie Carr (5) and Jake Darby (7) promised a good run chase, with 14 off the first 4 overs, despite losing one wicket, but, after 8 overs, the scoreboard only showed 209 for 3 wickets. Jude (12) and Gabriel (6) added 20, as the third pair, without further loss, but 55 were still required from the last 8 overs. The bowling remained tight, although Joe Marder (10) tried hard to make a game of it. 5 wickets were lost by the last pair, as they went for an unlikely victory, so the final score of 217 for 10 gave a slightly false picture, but our hosts were worthy winners.
