Bentley U9's win cup semi final!

This was the Under 9's second 11 a side game and the semifinal of the cup against Billericay.
Dylan won the toss and elected to field. Dylan took the first over and immediately bowled a double wicket maiden putting Billericay on the back foot. Bobby bowled second with a good over only for 1 run, Dylan then bowled another wicket maiden leaving Billericay on 1 for 3 wickets. Billericay continued to struggle against the bowling of the Bentley bowlers, Mikial batted well to score 12 but was caught by Aayush off Bobby when the score was on 29. Billericay finished their innings on 50 with the loss of 8 wickets, Bentley bowlers Dylan, Bobby, Aayush, Franklin and Ethan and the good fielding of all the Bentley players with Amye taking 2 catches as wicketkeeper made it hard for Billericay to score freely.
When we batted Bobby and George Collins opened the innings and made steady progress right from the first over with good running and the odd boundary to always keep in front of the required run rate. George was the first wicket to fall with the score on 29, Dylan came in 3, the scoring continue freely and Bobby had to retire on 30 with only a few runs to get. Franklin was number 4 bat but unfortunately hit his own wicket following a good pull shot that would have been a 4 and would have won the game. Ethan batted at 5, only to see Dylan hit a boundary to finish the game for a victory and a place in the final on 3rd September for Central Essex Finals Day to be held at Bentley.
Although there are a few who did not contribute with the the bat or ball, they all fielded well and gained experience for future years and were an important part of the victory.

The Team was : Dylan, Bobby, George Collins, George Catton, Cian, Amye, Franklin, William, Ryan, Aayush and Ethan.
