Fundraising is an integral part of any rugby club. It enables new projects to be delivered, it enables the club to function on a day to day basis. and it enables rugby participation to be subsidised to help fulfill the aims of Blaenau RFC. Sometimes difficult decisions have to be made to balance the equilibrium between the two and it is usually the rugby side that will be supported as without rugby there wouldn't be a club!

Before planning any event the objectives for holding it should be established. An event can be held for a number of different purposes;

To raise funds

To entertain and motivate club supporters and committee

As a way of team building

To create PR and awareness for the club

To attract new donors/sponsors/members for the club

Running a fundraising event can be very time consuming and quite often the amount of income generated can easily amount for very little once the costs have been taken out. However, with careful planning, they can be good fun, create a good image through press coverage, etc and generate some valuable cash.
